GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position provides essential support to the Board investigators, advising and prosecuting attorneys in order to quickly respond to and equitably resolve complaints of unsafe, incompetent and/or impaired nurses who threaten public safety.

Generate and distribute correspondence between board office, Respondent, Complainant, and witnesses to investigate complaints.
Respond to inquiries from nurses, employers, and members of the public regarding Compliance Department procedures and proceedings, including responses to Public Records requests;
Assist in responses to Public Records requests in coordination with the Business Operation Coordinator.
Enter required data into designated computer systems/software programs, including the nurse’s case file, the Wyoming State Board of Nursing’s licensing database (ORBS); and DC Tracking
Schedule and track deadlines to move cases forward and meet Wyoming Administrative Procedures Act (WAPA) requirements using the Compliance calendar
Proofread all legal documents for errors before obtaining signatures and dissemination to ensure an accurate & legally correct work product;
Coordinate administrative legal proceedings with the Attorney General’s Office (AG), Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) (schedule hearings), Board of Medicine (reserve hearing room), & Wyoming Reporting Service (reserve court reporter);
Trial preparation including but not limited to developing, maintain & preparing exhibits for trial;
Assist with obtaining discovery for cases and the disbursement to Investigative Commitee (IC) members as well as the prosecuting Attorney General and compliance consultants;
Liaison between prosecuting attorney, respondent, respondent’s attorney & expert, and consulting witnesses for trial; coordinate schedules and documents for expert witnesses;
Act as backup in managing documents for licensees in the WSBN Nurse Monitoring Program.
Attend all Board meetings in person or by phone.
Gather information at the direction of the Investigators by determining sources of information to accurately assist members of the public, WSBN Executive Director, Compliance Consultants, board members functioning as Investigative Committee & prosecuting Attorney General;
Process renewal applications on hold and mail letters requesting additional information; scan paperwork received into electronic files and chart in electronic database; forward information to investigators for further consideration of additional investigation
Manage calendar to track response dates to NOCs, subpoenas, Settlement Agreements, etc.
Manage electronic case files and folders in the N Drive for various compliance and discipline matters
Familiar with the triage color coding of various discipline cases and matters
Assist with maintaining IC Tracking database to track current activity on all cases from initiation of complaint to final resolution
