BAKER JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports directly to: Pastry Chef
Job Overview
The baker role aids a team of workers in a food production area to meet daily production goals. The baker primarily assists the bread production team and assists the pastry team when necessary. Their work must comply with quality, health and safety standards. Assists and supports workers. This position also helps to maintain clean, safe, and sanitary work areas throughout the facility.
Experience/Knowledge:
- Completion of a minimum 2 years of study at an accredited culinary program or comparable work experience.
- Must have high-volume baking experience.
- Possess a familiarity with professional cooking techniques
- Ability to read and understand kitchen terminology, follow recipes and recognize priority items on prep list based on current on hand amounts and expected business levels.
- Professional communication skills are required: ability to take direction, to work in a team environment. Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized
