The company was founded in Bethesda, MD in 2013, to bring fresh, made-from-scratch organic breads, pastries, sweets, and croissant items inspired by bakeries in France to the DMV area. We have expanded to seven retail locations, two production bakeries, and a thriving wholesale business. About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Baker to join our team at the Fresh Baguette Bethesda location (4919 Bethesda Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814). As a baker, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality baked goods and exceptional customer service. What You"ll Do

• Bake various types of breads and baked goods to meet Fresh Baguette's high-quality standards.
• Prepare products and ingredients for the next day of baking to ensure smooth operations.
• Organize the freezer and fridge to maintain proper food storage and safety protocols.
• Pack away delivery items and manage inventory efficiently.
• Set up and maintain the bread display to attract customers and showcase products.
• Clean and sanitize the baking station to ensure safety and hygiene.
• Prepare and serve baked goods, sandwiches, salads, breads, and pastries with care and attention to detail.
• Pay close attention to product displays and ensure the cleanliness of the store throughout the day.
• Build long-term relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service and creating a welcoming environment.
• Uphold store safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
• Provide friendly and prompt customer service to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Handle cash and credit transactions efficiently and accurately at the cash register.
• Offer product recommendations to customers, showcasing your expertise and passion for baked goods.

Shifts:

• Baking shifts: 4:45AM – 1:00PM (You will bake from 4:45AM-7:00AM, then you will be a barista from 7:00AM-1:00PM)
• 6-8 hour shift
• 5 Days a week including Saturday and Sunday

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a baker or in food service.

• Friendly, warm, and inviting demeanor with excellent people skills.
• Ability to learn and take on challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining quality and cleanliness standards.
• Strong organizational skills for managing inventory, setting up displays, and maintaining a clean workspace.
• Previous experience in baking, food preparation, or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Comfortable handling cash and credit transactions with accuracy.

Requirements

• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Must have open availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, mornings, and afternoons
• Availability to work on Holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.
• Physical exertion requirement to performheavy work (such as frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds)
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable transportation to work
• Ability to stand for 8 hours
