Position Overview:
Maü Miami is seeking an experienced and dedicated Back of House Manager to oversee all kitchen operations and ensure a seamless and efficient workflow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. As the Back of House Manager, you will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, overseeing food preparation, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Job duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Manage, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Manage food costs, inventory, and procurement, ensuring the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and execute menus, special events, and promotions.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure proper maintenance and repairs.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues related to food quality or service.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Stay current with industry trends, new cooking techniques, and ingredient innovations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Back of House Manager or similar role in a high-volume restaurant.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in food cost management and inventory control.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
