Position: BA/PM for Website and Email Domain Migration
Type: Onsite
Location: San Francisco, CA.
Term: 2 years
Must Have: 10 years of experience working on email domain changes for inbound/outbound email flow.
The Technical Business Analyst is to provide as-needed analytical support for website and e-mail domain migration, which encompasses disaster recovery. This role will include but is not limited to website and e-mail migration domain expertise, conducting technical research, drafting technical requirements, reviewing, and documenting policies and procedures, and serving in an advisory capacity to the ITS Program / Project Manager. Additional tasks are to be defined by the ITS Manager due to the agile nature of this project. This position will not supervise staff but will need to be able to work closely with City Staff and Consultants. Maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and partners is critical to the success of this project. Work assignments will be provided to the Technical Business Analyst by the ITS Program and Project Manager.
The Technical Business Analyst tasks are subject to change and are contingent on the business needs. Responsibilities for this project include but are not limited to the following:
Task 1: Professional Services
- Provide analytical support and serve as a subject matter expert to the ITS Program and Project Manager for disaster recovery service efforts, website and e-mail domain migration.
- Lead requirements gathering discussions, analyze and draft technical requirements.
- Create various types of reports, maintain records for system documentation, and provide functional support for large-scale projects in ITS Portfolio Management.
- Intermediate to advanced experience using Microsoft applications; Excel, Word, , Teams and SharePoint.
- Familiar with website redirects, e-mail domain redirects, and e-mail delivery processes.
- Documenting requirements for ITS for-business processes and applications.
- Experience with documenting requirements for website and e-mail domain migration services, which will include domain updates within various applications.
- May require research and analysis of software products specific to e-mail domain migration for business communication, IT and business continuity within various applications.
Task 2: Project Management As-Needed at the discretion of the ITS Program / Project Manager. Scope may include but is not limited to the following:
- Planning, Project Schedule Creation, Quality, Scope & Change Management
- Risk Management: Responsible for documenting risk management and contingency plans.
- Responsible for drafting agenda items and meeting minutes.
- Engagement Management: Plan communication strategy to internal and external ensure stakeholders are informed of e-mail domain migration.
- Monitor and report on project status and report on project constraints.
- Assist with overseeing project-related functions as-needed.
Task 3: Disaster Recovery Analysis
- Analyze existing policies and procedures, provide recommendations for improvements, and document requirements as needed. Responsible for documenting risk management and contingency plans.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience working in an IT Business Analyst capacity, or similar technical role supporting large-scale programs or projects.
- 10 years of experience working on email domain changes for inbound/outbound email flow.
- Expertise in internal email domain migration processes, particularly for Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to work collaboratively with City staff and consultants, maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience supporting large-scale IT projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
