About the Job
We are seeking a VDI Specialist to work on our W2 remotely from anywhere in Texas on a 6 month contract (extension possible) for our Austin, Texas client.
The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) engineer is responsible for architecture, and planning.
Responsibilities include:
* Designing and implementing secure and scalable Azure VDI architectures.
* Manage 65 End Points: This includes provisioning, restarting, rebuilding, and restoring virtual desktops.
* Image Management: Create, maintain, and install golden images for the Azure VDI environment.
* Patch Management: Implement and manage operating system patching for virtual desktops.
* Security: Secure VDI endpoints against threats and ensure compliance with best practices.
* Network Administration: Implement firewall rules and configure network settings for the VDI environment.
* Policy Management: Manage Azure Policies, AD Policies, and Intune Policies for the VDI environment.
* Windows Server Configuration: Configure Windows servers for VDI workloads and utilize scripting skills for app packages.
* Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor VDI performance and generate reports.
* Backups and Recovery: Manage backups and recovery procedures for AWS and Azure VDI environments.
* Collaboration: Work effectively with other IT professionals and departments.
* Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest Azure and VDI advancements.
Qualifications:
* Proficiency in VDI endpoint management solutions, including architecture and deployment.
* Experience with endpoint management tools like Microsoft Intune or SCCM in VDI deployments.
* Evaluate and recommend VDI infrastructure solutions based
Requirements.
* Knowledge of network virtualization technologies like VLANs and VXLANs in VDI contexts.
* Proven experience in managing Azure VDI environments.
* Strong understanding of Azure services, particularly those related to Azure VDI.
* Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Hyper-V or VMware.
* Solid knowledge of networking principles and ports/applications required for traversing agency firewalls.
* Familiarity with Windows Server operating systems and their integration with Azure.
* Experience with SCCM/OSD and Intune/AutoPilot for systems management and provisioning.
* Knowledge of security measures and best practices for securing VDI environments.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills.
* Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools.
