Key responsibilities of the Azure Cloud System Engineer:
- Architecting Solutions: Design and plan cloud-based solutions, considering scalability, reliability, and performance. Creating architecture diagrams, selecting appropriate Azure services, and ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Infrastructure Deployment: Perform tasks related to deploying and managing Azure resources. This includes setting up Azure services, virtual machines (VMs), configuring networks, storage, and databases.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices, manage access controls, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Setup Azure firewalls, encryption, and identity management.
- Automation and Scripting: Automate repetitive tasks using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, PowerShell, or Azure CLI. This streamlines resource provisioning and management.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor Azure services, analyze logs, and troubleshoot issues. Setup alerts, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design solutions for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery. This involves configuring load balancers, failover mechanisms, and backup strategies.
- DevOps Practices: Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and ensure smooth application releases.
- Cost Optimization: Manage Azure costs by right-sizing resources, using reserved instances, and optimizing storage. Cost-conscious decisions contribute to efficient resource utilization.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with Azure services, certifications, and industry trends is crucial. Continuously learn and adapt to evolving cloud technologies.
In summary, the Azure Cloud System Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure-based solutions, contributing to the success of SpectraMedix by leveraging cloud computing.
Qualifications- 7 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 5 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma and 9 years relevant experience.
- Proficient in Azure IaaS and PaaS deployments and troubleshooting.
- Strong grasp of networking, security and automation in an Azure cloud environment.
- Microsoft certifications as follows:
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- Azure Security Engineer Associate
- Azure Networking Associate
- Experience implementing, managing Azure Databricks infrastructure
- Experience supporting compliance requirements (NIST, SOC2, HIPAA, HITRUST etc.)
- Experience with various Linux and Windows distributions, Python, JSON, etc.
- Experience debugging Azure performance and technical issues

- Must be flexible and able to work on occasional nights and weekends
- Must be available for off-hour support on a regular rotation schedule
