About the Job
AWS Principal Data Architect (This is a Remote Contract role)
Must travel to Utah as and when needed
Requirement
Hands-on experience leading large-scale global data warehousing and analytics projects
A hands-on technologist fluent in SQL, python, and other relevant languages
Experience as an architect or across a range of related domains
Experience designing and delivering choreographed or event-driven solutions, ideally using an event streaming platform
Experience with cloud and on-prem data and tools like Redshift, Snowflake, Collibra, Matillion, Datactics, and NoSQL database expertise such as MongoDB or DynamoDB
Acknowledged expert in the area of Data architecture, Data Mesh, Data mesh, data virtualization, MDM, Data Modeling, Real-Time Data Management Architectures, AWS Data Services and architecture Knowledge and experience specifying, designing and implementing big data solutions
Deep knowledge of integration patterns and technologies and experience designing and implementing integrated, distributed systems
Knowledge of distributed systems and services, messaging,object orientation, database solutions, web application development, security, and open-source technologies
Knowledge of design patterns and architectural concepts, including microservices, low-latency systems, data warehousing, APIs, event brokers, and cloud services, preferably AWS (Amazon Web Services),
Job Role
Contribute to the definition, maintenance and evolution of architectural principles, standards, and patterns in line with the Architectural Roadmap
Provide technical leadership to engineering teams on data-related application design methodologies, system resources, and application tuning
Own the Strategy for the transactional and data warehousing platforms
Provide solutions for data interoperability and data integration between microservices, applications and systems
Review data (base) changes from engineering teams and recommend query or schema changes to optimize the performance of queries
Participate actively in infrastructure and application design, focusing on scalability considerations, especially around data storage and access
Design and architect for data reliability, uptime, scalability, performance, and availability
Partner with Security and Privacy teams to ensure data is secure and in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, Data Privacy and data retention policies
Experience
15-20+ year's overall experience starting in software development, data engineering and many years in Enterprise-wide Data Architecture
Has led the technical architecture design and development of a global multi-billion-dollar organization
5+ years implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing and enterprise environments.
Qualification
B.S. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or M.S. in a related field is preferred.
