As a key member of our the GP IT Operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions on the AWS platform for our customers . You will work closely with customers to understand their unique business needs and provide expert guidance to ensure their database systems are secure, scalable, and performant.

Duties
- Provide support for database environment - Aurora, Postgres, RDS, Redshift, SQL, and Time Series.
- Deploy, manage, implement and optimize database solutions, queries, pipelines, and services for our customers.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues under pressure.
- Work with key stakeholders to understand their needs and provide guidance on database security, scalability, and performance.
- Manage AIM roles, policies, and accounts. Manage encryption, access controls, and compliance.
- Implement performance tuning strategies for databases, queries, jobs, and services.
- Create and deploy backup and recovery strategies.
- Provide on-call support for production databases.

- Join the GP IT Operations Team.
- Will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions on AWS platform.
- Ensure database security, scalability, and performance.
- Will have a direct impact on data that affects major pipelines and applications.
- This team is special because it utilizes tools like Generative AI and Machine Learning to assist customers with compliance and safety monitoring. They are the team leading the charge in implementing cutting edge technology.
- 3 days onsite required. You can choose which days, but people typically go in Tues-Thurs.
Responsibilities
- Solution Design - understand client requirements to design AWS database solutions. Selecting database services, defining data models, and ensuring HA and DR.
- Performance Optimization - monitor and analyze database performance. Implement optimization to improve performance and cost-efficiency.
- Security Compliance - implement encryption, access controls, and compliance for industry standards.
- Documentation - create comprehensive documentation for database architecture, configurations, and best practices to ensure easy knowledge transfer.
- Technical Leadership - server as SME for AWS database services. Mentor and guide junior team members.
- Client Collaboration - establish strong relationships with clients. Provide ongoing support and recommend optimizations.
- Stay Current - stay up today with latest AWS services and trends in database technology. Provide innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- BA in Comp Scie or related field.
- AWS certification.
- Experience deploying, implementing and managing database solutions on AWS including RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, and more.
- Knowledge of data modeling and database architecture patterns.
