About the Job
JOB DESCRIPTION
1) 4+ years of hands-on experience in Amazon Redshift database administration.
2) Strong expertise in query performance tuning, including analyzing and optimizing SQL queries for Redshift.
3) In-depth knowledge of Amazon Redshift Workload Management (WLM), including queue configurations and query prioritization.
4) Experience with Redshift Serverless and understanding of its use cases and cost-benefit advantages for scalable workloads.
5) Strong understanding of Redshift architecture, including distribution keys, sort keys, and data compression techniques.
6) Ability to monitor and troubleshoot Redshift clusters using CloudWatch, Enhanced VPC Routing, and other AWS monitoring tools.
7) Familiarity with Redshift security best practices, including IAM policies, data encryption, and auditing.
8) Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams to solve database-related challenges.
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
Roles & Responsibilities
Administer and manage Amazon Redshift clusters and Redshift Serverless environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and availability.
Perform in-depth query tuning and optimization to improve performance, minimize latency, and optimize resource utilization in Redshift environments.
Configure and manage Redshift Workload Management (WLM) settings and queues to optimize workload performance and resource allocation.
Monitor an d manage query performance, disk space, and cluster health, ensuring optimal Redshift performance across all environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues, identifying bottlenecks in queries, memory usage, and CPU utilization.
Implement automation scripts for monitoring, scaling, and managing Redshift clusters and query workloads.
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and developers to support data ingestion, transformation, and reporting workloads on Redshift.
Implement data security best practices, including data encryption, user access control, and monitoring of security policies in Redshift.
Provide guidance and expertise on using Redshift Serverless, helping teams transition to serverless for dynamic and scalable workloads.
Maintain and update documentation for cluster configurations, query optimization techniques, and WLM settings
