Job Description Summary

The AVP-Title IX Office Case Manager for Support, Resources, and Education position works with the AVP for Equity and Title IX Officer to provide supportive measures, resources, and information about process options to individuals impacted by sex discrimination, sex-based harassment, and sexual misconduct and to individuals who are engaged in process under the University’s Sexual Misconduct Policy. The Case Manager for Support, Resources, and Education serves as a liaison with various campus partners, including with the Office of Affirmative Action & Equal Opportunity Programs, University Life, Student Intervention Services, Special Services, The Center for Community Standards and Accountability, Restorative Practices at Penn, the Office of the Ombuds, Human Resources, Faculty Affairs, and the Confidential Resource Offices, among others. The Case Manager for Support, Resources, and Education works with members of the AVP-Title IX team and other campus partners to develop and coordinate the distribution of educational materials to the Penn community. The Case Manager for Support, Resources, and Education provides support and training to faculty and staff who serve as support advisors for individuals engaged in the University’s process under the Sexual Misconduct Policy.





Job Description


Job Responsibilities

+ Works with the AVP for Equity and Title IX Officer to offer supportive measures, connection with resources, and information about process options to individuals impacted by sex discrimination, sex-based harassment and misconduct and to individuals who are engaged in process under the University’s Sexual Misconduct Policy.

+ Responsible for monitoring all incoming reports of sex discrimination, harassment and misconduct and providing outreach to impacted parties in response to reports received by the AVP-Title IX Office.

+ Coordinates responses and outreach efforts with other members of the AVP-Title IX Office as appropriate.

+ Works with members of the AVP-Title IX team and other campus partners to develop and coordinate education and training on the prevention and response to incidents and reports of sex discrimination, sexual misconduct and interpersonal violence and the distribution of related educational materials to the Penn community.

+ Coordinates and provides support and education to faculty and staff who are trained to serve as support advisors for individuals engaged in the University’s process under the Sexual Misconduct Policy.

+ Maintains accurate and updated case management information in the AVP-Title IX Office database and records systems.

+ Serves as a liaison with campus partners, including with the Office of Affirmative Action & Equal Opportunity Programs, University Life, Student Intervention Services, Special Services, Restorative Practices at Penn, the Office of the Ombuds, Human Resources, Faculty Affairs, and the Confidential Resource Offices, among others.

+ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.






Qualifications



+ A master’s degree with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working within a college or university setting preferred, but not required.


+ Strong understanding of the relevant laws related to Title VII and Title IX, and other laws prohibiting discrimination based upon sex and gender, and experience working with issues such as interpersonal violence, relationship violence, sexual violence, sexual harassment, and stalking.


+ Excellent organizational skills and ability to problem-solve are required. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team and strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed. Excellent judgement, discretion, and demonstrated ability to manage highly confidential information are required. Intermediate to advanced computing (Apple and PC) and data-based skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are needed.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
