AVP Client Services - Workers Compensation
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To be responsible for the administrative, managerial and client relationship associated with client services for a large dedicated program.
PREFERRED GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION
Candidates must be located within 90 miles of New York City to be considered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures contract compliance with client and company guidelines.
- Handles financials including accounts receivable, invoicing and pricing support.
- Responsible for client knowledge including all aspects of client contract, compliance, performance and relationship with the company.
- Handles renewal process timely; negotiates new service contracts as appropriate.
- Responsible for business planning and budgeting.
- Plans for staffing needs including succession, bench-strength, and new service offerings.
- Supports client relationships; builds executive relationships; supports internal relationships.
- Supports business development.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supports the organization's quality program(s).
- Travels as required to the New York City area up to a weekly cadence.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.
- Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance reviews.
- Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
- Direct reports up to 2 individuals - may vary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major in Risk Management, Business Administration or Finance preferred. Advanced degree and/or professional designations (CPCU, AIC, ARM) preferred.
Experience
Ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include three (3) years of Account Executive on national accounts experience and five (5) years of claims/supervisory experience.
- Experience with New York Workers Compensation.
- Experience with large-scale public entity clients.
Skills & Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of New York workers compensation, preferably with union experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
