Aviation Systems Engineer 2 - TeamX - Garmin International, Inc.

We are seeking a full-time Aviation Systems Engineer 2 for TeamX in our Olathe, KS location. TeamX is a group of passionate pilots and aviation enthusiasts. In this role, you will assist in furthering our mission or bringing disruptive technology to the Experimental/Amateur-Build, Light-Sport, and Part 23 aviation markets by supporting the successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems. 

Essential Functions

• Defines and maintains system architectures and requirements
• Establishes product-specific execution plans for system-level aspects compatible with Garmin processes, including discussions with external customers – individuals and companies
• Identifies and documents technical scope of change in support of small changes to already supported functionality or interfaces
• Identifies and resolves defects using proper engineering tools and techniques
• Plans and executes integration testing to validate user experience and verify system requirements
• Provides technical content for system design and description documentation
• Proactively improves processes, tools, and procedures

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0)
• Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving ability
• Experience with Systems Integration activities
• Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Previous work experience with consumer or aviation products
