Company Intro:
High Performance Aviation, LLC is looking for a Director of Maintenance / Aircraft Mechanic (A&P/IA) to join our team at the Conroe-North Houston Regional Airport. At HPA, we help aircraft owners buy and sell aircraft. HPA serves as an aircraft broker and consultant within the general aviation piston, turboprop, and corporate jet aircraft market. CXO MX, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HPA, is a general aviation maintenance shop with a team of mechanics and a loyal customer base. Our customers fly a variety of aircraft, including Piper, Cessna, Mooney, Beechcraft, and more.
Role Summary:
The Director of Maintenance is responsible for coordination and supervision of inspections, repairs, upgrades, and pre-purchase evaluations on piston aircraft. The candidate should have experience performing maintenance and inspections on a variety of piston aircraft, including borescope inspections. Candidate will be required to assist with maintenance records research for aircraft for potential acquisitions for HPA clients. Position may require occasional travel by airlines or private aircraft. Private pilot or better preferred to perform occasional maintenance verification flights on piston aircraft.
Must have a broad knowledge of general aviation fixed-wing aircraft, and some familiarity with turbine aircraft maintenance programs. Candidate should also possess a strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance and record-keeping requirements. Repair Station experience preferred. Candidate must possess strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and be highly motivated to provide an exceptional experience for aircraft owners. The selected candidate will be expected to lead a team of mechanics and support staff for the furtherance of the business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Review maintenance records and aircraft research
- Visual and mechanical inspections of aircraft
- Routine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintenance verification flights (as pilot or observer)
- Preparing and reviewing equipment lists
- Assist sales reps with aircraft maintenance review
- Assistance with aircraft valuations
- Utilize customer relationship management software
- Use computer-based maintenance tracking software for estimates billing, and log entries.
- Host clients for aircraft showings
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise pre-purchase inspections of aircraft
- Provide timely updates to HPA and clients regarding maintenance status of aircraft
- Oversee development of operations manual and/or Safety Management System
- Oversee policies and procedures development toward future repair station certification
- Normal schedule will be M-F 8am-5pm, with occasional evenings or weekends depending on company workload
Required Qualifications:
- A&P Mechanic w/ Inspection Authorization
- 3 Years of piston aircraft maintenance experience
- Familiarity with MS Office products
- Proficiency with computers and software
- Experience with aircraft maintenance tracking and quoting software
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely when required
- Ability to adapt easily to new technology
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation or related field, or equivalent experience
- Private Pilot
- 2 years of turbine aircraft maintenance experience
- Experience with a variety of aircraft models and avionics
- Experience with CRM software and/or computer-based maintenance tracking
