Overview
Summary: The Audio/Visual Technician is responsible for overseeing the selection, installation, maintenance, and repair of audio/visual equipment across multiple locations within a defined region. This role involves supervising facilities managers, collaborating with operations and support teams to optimize processes, and ensuring high-quality A/V system performance. The Audio/Visual Technician will travel extensively to support business needs and provide after-hours support as required. Strong technical expertise in audio, video, and control systems, and leadership skills, are essential for success in this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Equipment Management:
- Select and purchase audio/visual equipment for multiple locations within a region.
- Maintain and repair audio and Visual systems, including wiring, mounting, and installation of equipment.
Supervision and Collaboration:
- Supervise facilities managers in the installation, implementation, and maintenance of audio/visual equipment across multiple locations.
- Collaborate with local, regional, and district managers, working closely with the operations team.
- Work with operations and support teams to provide direction, streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and enhance the overall user experience.
Travel and Support:
- Travel independently within a defined region and nationally as needed to support business requirements.
- Provide after-hours, weekend, or holiday support as business needs arise.
Communication:
- Demonstrate effective communication skills in interactions with various stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of audio, video, and control flow, as well as expertise in computers, router/wireless networking, calibrating projectors and TVs, control and video distribution, and DSP programming.
- Familiarity with installing and programming systems such as Crestron, AMX, Extron, Control4, URC, NeoPro, Kramer, Knox Video, Shinybow Video Matrix, Harman, and BiAmp audio systems including DBX, BSS, and NEXIA.
- Experience with Chief and Peerless projector mounts, Da-lite and Draper projector screens, Samsung, LG, Sharp, Toshiba, and Haier TVs using IP/IR and RS-232 commands.
- Skilled in installing, programming, and adjusting JBL and QSC speakers and amplifiers, as well as Casio projectors.
- Proficient in CAT5e and CAT6 shielded/unshielded soldering and terminations.
- Willingness to climb 14’ ladders to install speakers, projectors, screens, and wiring.
Work Hours
- Must be willing to work early mornings, overnight shifts, and weekends as dictated by project needs.
- 75% of travel required.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years’ troubleshooting and programming skills in audio/visual and network equipment.
- 2+ years' experience working with VISIO, AutoCAD, and SMAART software.
- 2+ years' experience grounding.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: Bowling center or office environment where you will walk, bend, and stand for periods of time, and may lift objects with some assistance. The noise level is typical for bowling.
The approximate pay range for this position is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
