Job Title: A/V Systems Programmer
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Position Overview:
Seize this exciting opportunity to design, program, and maintain cutting-edge control systems for our clients' A/V systems. This role combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving and requires excellent communication skills to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance across all platforms.
Coordinates With:
- Internal Team: Account Manager, System Designer, Project Manager, Operations Administrator, Shop Lead, Project Lead, and Customer Support (CS) Administrator.
- External Partners: Manufacturers/vendors, manufacturer representatives, client representatives, and AV consultants.
- Clients: End-users and their technical teams (or IT vendors).
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
1. Programming Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and program control systems for audio/visual equipment such as projectors, screens, lighting, audio processors, and conferencing systems.
- Develop and implement custom control interfaces using platforms like Crestron, AMX, QSYS, or similar.
- Serve as the internal technical expert, providing advice and support to the team.
- Integrate A/V systems with existing IT infrastructure, ensuring network protocol and security standard compatibility.
- Load and test code in the shop before deploying it to the client's location.
- Assist the Customer Support Team with service issues.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and updates on A/V systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to A/V control systems promptly.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for A/V system users.
2. Efficiency
- Complete programming within the budgeted timeframe and meet clients’/stakeholders’ deadlines.
- Thoroughly test all programming before loading it into the client's environment.
- Submit accurate daily time logs and work logs.
- Submit credit card receipts weekly, at a minimum.
3. Performance
- Deliver engaging client training sessions on using the control systems, earning excellent client feedback.
- Ensure all control systems are assembled, tested, and project-ready before leaving the shop.
- Acquire one Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) Renewal Unit (RU) or manufacturer/vendor certification each month.
- Support service work orders as needed.
4. Coordination
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager, Administrator, Project Manager, and Project Team on schedules and timelines.
- Ensure on-time project completion through collaboration with the Client and Project Team.
- Work with the CS Administrator to provide additional service capacity.
Job Requirements:

- Proven success as a Customer Support Technician or Project Lead.
- Advanced knowledge of sound, acoustics, video, lighting systems, control, networking, and basic power systems.
- Proficiency with Digital Signal Processors (DSPs), control systems, video processors, iAuditor, IP addressing, and networking.
- Thorough understanding of construction drawings and schematics.
- Ability to quickly identify and correct errors in system drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of methods and equipment to test and verify system performance.
- Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with common hand tools used in electrical and rigging trades.
- Ability to work comfortably at heights using ladders or mechanical lifts.
- Capability to lift, push, pull, or carry at least 50 pounds without assistance.
- Flexibility to stoop, bend, kneel, and twist frequently.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Comfort working in demanding conditions, including extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
- Ability to handle stressful work situations and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional demeanor and appearance.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and OneNote.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and reliable transportation.
- Authorization to drive a company vehicle per the Fleet Safety Program.
- Ability to work on school and house of worship premises.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
- Willingness to travel as required (US only).
- Flexibility to work out-of-town, evenings, weekends, overtime, and long hours as needed.
Education:
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification required; CTS-I preferred.
- Associates or technical degree or 4 years of A/V experience with a High School diploma or GED.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on new products and industry certifications.
- Dedication to improving processes, quality, and maintaining renewal certifications.

Salary
