Overview:

Github IT is seeking an Audio/Visual Engineer who doubles as a technical support specialist. This person is passionate about digital experiences and client success. Responsibilities:In this role, you will lead efforts in providing support for our corporate AV/VC environments, interact with leadership, and assist our Hubbers with technical issues. Some of the key responsibilities for this role will include working closely with our business partners and third-party vendors to support all aspects of Events and Conference room technology in our San Francisco headquarters. This position will also be responsible for the successful planning, production, and execution of all in-person live events.
Perform daily conference and presentation space checks, ensuring systems are stable and functioning.
Work collaboratively with events stakeholders to ensure technology requirements and support for events are met. Assist in onboarding new hires and their IT hardware and access needs.
Assist our external customers in a consultative manner by acquainting them with the physical event space and its features. Additionally, you will devise custom solutions for quick-turn events.
Execute planning and support for large 400+ person internal/external events, all-hands, and smaller but equally essential team meetings.
Operate the complete A/V production equipment and services suite in our events spaces.
Manage asset inventory and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
Help manage and oversee vendors as required for service and installations.
Troubleshoot all Audio/Video equipment problems, coordinating resolution efforts with team and outside vendors as appropriate.
Communicate and document the accurate status of work in progress and complete it with the manager, team members, and customers.
Provide lightweight installation of equipment in need of break-fix swap-outs or testing of systems.
Assist in the development of new system implementations or modifications of current systems.
Triaging, prioritizing, revolving, routing, and scheduling all incoming IT support requests.
Supporting and managing our standard endpoints, comprising macOS and Windows systems.
Front line for network problems, working with and learning from our network experts.
Lifecycle Asset Management; Procurement to Retirement of IT technology.
Documenting and updating internal processes and guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field
- OR 1+ year(s) technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience working with audio-visual technologies, including event, executive, and IT support
- 3+ years experience working with the following technologies: Ross Ultrix, Carbonite video systems, Yamaha QL5 audio board configuration, including Dante, Panasonic PTZ camera and controllers, and Crestron systems
- 3+ years experience timeline driven audio video project management experience, including network configuration and troubleshooting related to AV systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Passion for technology and an ability to identify new opportunities for efficiency and productivity while solving problems
- Familiarity with emerging AV technologies and trends, with a willingness to continuously learn and adapt
- Experience with scripting or automation tools to streamline AV processes
- Experience in a global corporate environment with diverse teams and remote collaboration
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant.
