Headwaters School, a Pre-K through grade 12 independent day school serving 530 students across its three campuses in Austin, TX, is seeking a full-time Auxiliary Programs Manager to begin July 1, 2024.

The Auxiliary Programs Manager reports directly to our Senior Director of Finance and Advancement.
Job Summary:
The Auxiliary Programs Manager is responsible for the development and coordination of all non-traditional revenue streams for the school, including camps, after school auxiliary programs, and facility rentals. The ideal Auxiliary Programs Manager is entrepreneurial, energetic, and has experience in creating and implementing programming for children ages 3-18. This position has oversight of scheduling, programming, hiring, and supports decisions related to marketing and communication and facilities management. The Auxiliary Programs Manager will interact with and serve a variety of constituents including parents, students, faculty, and staff. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential. The person in this role must be approachable, enthusiastic, and able to work collaboratively in a team setting. Computer proficiency, particularly in working with database programs, is required. Bachelor’s degree is required and fluency in Spanish is preferred. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience planning student programs, preferably in an educational institution.
Essential Job Duties:
- Design, develop, and implement new offerings with the goal of providing high-quality programs.
- Work with the Leadership Team to assess and enhance current programs that meet the needs of families, faculty, and staff.
- Maintain and analyze statistical data and market research in planning and decision-making.
- Ensure that camp programs comply with city and state regulatory standards.
- Serve as chief risk-management officer for all camps, auxiliary programs, and rentals.
- Authorize budgeting, purchasing, and payroll for auxiliary programs.
- Supervise the camp counselors, specialty staff, and employees of summer camps, specialty programs, and extracurricular programs.
- Coordinate programming ideas with other departments within the Headwaters School community.
- Manage recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of program employees; ensuring compliance with human resource policies and practices.
- Develop and maintain a marketing plan in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Department.
- Oversee advertising in social media, print, and online platforms.
- Manage and oversee website development including the ability to update program and marketing efforts.
- Lead all program registrations and manage the underlying database processes.
- Oversee the recruitment of auxiliary program participants.
- Develop and oversee all budgets for auxiliary programs in conjunction with the Finance Office.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Finance and Advancement or Head of School.
This is a full-time, exempt position and compensation is competitive for the greater Austin area.
