Responsibilities
- Perform repairs in all categories: heating/cooling, electrical, brakes, steering, suspension, etc.
- Repair and replace components such as transmissions, wheel bearings, water pumps, etc.
- Troubleshoot guest concerns, collaborating with other techs as needed to diagnose accurately.
- Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and adhere to manufacturer specifications.
- Complete detailed preventative maintenance reports using digital visual inspections.
- Maintain communication with the service department to keep customers informed.
- Support housekeeping duties as needed.
- Uphold high standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations governing service operations, including protocols for hazardous waste disposal and OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years prior experience working as a mechanic/technician in an automotive shop
- General maintenance and repair & replace experience required
- Valid driver's license & clean driving record
- Have necessary set of tools to perform repairs & maintenance
- Excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environment to meet or exceed hourly goals
- ASE Certifications preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds
- Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head
- Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair
- Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools
- Walk/stand for the majority of the workday
- Drive manual transmission vehicles
- Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
- Efficiently navigate a computer
