Knudtsen Chevrolet is seeking an Automotive Service Technician-Diesel Experience to join the Knudtsen family. Knudtsen is a family-owned and operated company that provides the community with new and used cars, a full-service body shop and service department, as well as Genuine GM Parts. Our service department is seeking someone who can add to the team as a skilled technician for all makes and models. Prior work history should include at least 2 years in an automotive repair facility. Pay range: $50,000 to $120,000

Responsibilities
- Diagnose cause of malfunction and perform work as outlined on the repair order. Accurately document all work performed and recommended.
- Inspect assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended – may include road tests.
- Clearly communicate with service advisor if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Connect with Parts Department to obtain needed parts and reports status of parts to service advisor.
- Ensures appearance of customers’ vehicles is maintained or improved – notifies service advisor of any change in the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions and maintains all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Operate all tools and equipment safely.
- Complete manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events as requested. Keep up to date on technical bulletins.
Qualifications
- Able to perform day-to-day service activities in a technician environment.
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in an automotive repair facility and provide his or her own tools.
- Be able to lift up to one hundred (100) lbs without assistance and stand, sit, bend, and twist for extended periods of time on concrete.
- Have strong attention to detail and be organized.
- A self-motivated team player that is able to communicate effectively with team members and works well with other technicians and service advisors.
- Have a valid driver's license and able to drive both automatic and manual vehicles.
- Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.
- Pass a criminal background check and drug test. Also subject to random drug testing at the company's request.
