Responsibilities
- Greet customer in courteous, professional manner & build customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence
- Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including flushes, oil changes, tire rotations & multi-point inspections
- Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
- Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
- Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
- Notify Service Advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required
- Notify Service Advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
- Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to Service Advisors and customers
- Document vehicle maintenance by completing forms, reports, logs & records
- Collaborate & interact with all departments
- Maintain the Express Service Area in an organized manner
- Remain familiar with current advertised specials
- Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)
- Coordinate with & report directly to the Service Manager or Service Director
- Maintain the confidentiality of customer & company information at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities
Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve
Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
High School Diploma or GED (required)
ASE Certification/Technical degree (preferred)
One year in a service department
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
