What you'll do:
Train and achieve certification to evaluate engines with CRC rating methods and aids and processing parts. Attends seminars and workshops as required to remain up-to-date and certified on current methods. Trains into photo editing/photography of engine/vehicle components and special projects. Demonstrates effective communication, coordination, and cooperation with internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train and achieve certification to inspect, process, and assign visual numerical rating. Will require prolonged periods of visual concentration.
- Performs final quality control screening and may perform ratings/photography on and off Company premises.
- Interfaces with engineers and supervisors to provide technical data and support; interacts with clients as required.
- Secondary duties: Photographs engine/vehicle components and special projects, utilizing either digital or conventional equipment. Edits digital photos, creates graphic layouts, and saves in digital format.
- Assists in troubleshooting mechanical and instrumentation problems within the metrology lab.
- Responsible for complying with departmental ISO procedures.
- To carry out the above responsibilities, and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, and to exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing.
- Perform other duties as required.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- 1 year experience automotive testing/mechanical skills preferred (ability to identify test/automotive parts).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Knowledge of computer, data entry, and data processing fundamentals necessary. Outlook and Adobe photo shop/photography experience desired.
- Must be a team player with a "can do" attitude, take initiative and highly motivated.
- Must demonstrate initiative and be willing to ask questions to clarity instruction, as needed
- Good verbal and written communication skills desired. Must possess good interpersonal and oral communication abilities.
- Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
- Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
- Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties
- Must be customer focused and quality driven
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Periodic exposure to heat, noise, and fumes. Required to wear protective clothing, footwear and ear/eye protection. Must be able to lift and carry heavy engine parts and lubricant containers. Will be subjected to prolonged periods of visual concentration. Must have normal or corrected 20/20 vision. Must be available for occasional overnight travel. Must become highly proficient in CRC methods and remain calibrated/certified in the rating of current and newly introduced standardized or specialized testing. Must be willing to work overtime during peak demand periods to ensure customer service is responsive.
