SUMMARY
:
To develop and evaluate new Automation processes and improve current Automation process capability, efficiency, and overall productivity in all areas of manufacturing on new and existing products. Responsible for the programming / troubleshooting of equipment, designing of tools, fixtures, and determination of process parameters to achieve desired production goals and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Mechanical aptitude for diagnosis, repair, fabrication and assembly of automated equipment.
Understand, troubleshoot electrical control systems used in automated machinery
Wiring machines with electrical components such as sensors, relays, PLC’s power supplies, etc.
PLC programming using ladder logic
Able to communicate well with floor equipment operators, maintenance personnel, as well as engineers.
Proficient at using a Windows based PC, using email, the internet etc.
Working knowledge and component level troubleshooting ability in PLC programming and pneumatics,
Metal machining experience using manual mill and lathe.
Experience with welding and sheet metal fabrication
3D modeling experience using inventor or similar CAD system
Running manual mill (Bridgeport) building a wide variety of parts within industry standard .005 tolerance to print.
Experience working with vendors, receiving bids, negotiating prices, coordinating outside fabrication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION SATEMENT (S)
Actively participate and support the plant’s safety program. Report any injury or near miss immediately to your Group Lead or EHS Manager. Report all unsafe conditions immediately to a Group Lead, Value Stream Manager or EHS Manager.
Actively participate in the High Performance Team designated for your area. The HPTs are meant to improve the work experience by allowing the employees an opportunity to offer suggestions for improvement.
Record accurate and timely data, including order completions and quantity on daily labor reports, reclaim tickets, for reject parts and daily hours worked.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Keep all walkways and aisle free of any debris or clutter. Maintain 5S standards by returning tools to shadow boards. Sweep floor and finishing area as needed.
Daily attendance is a requirement of the job, as is arriving on time. Overtime is expected when customer demand dictates the need.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but will assist in working with and directing production associates

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or 3 to 5 years of related machining/automation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to affectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
