About the Job
Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Automation Technician in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for applying automation procedures and related knowledge to improve and maintain production and warehouse automation equipment and processes.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions
- Actively look for opportunities to improve equipment through monitoring/analyzing performance of equipment
- Troubleshoot/debug machinery or equipment problems utilizing necessary tools/software (ex. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Robot Programs, Digital Multimeter (DMM), etc.), schematics and wiring practices
- Repair or replace broken components and test machines for performance
- Read/interpret schematics and layout drawings of equipment
- Coordinate/assist adjustment and calibration of equipment
- Coordinate/assist in cleaning and lubrication of machinery
- Discuss automation problems with Automation Engineering Teams/other departments
- Recommend improvements to assembly, maintenance, safety, test method or product through automated processes
- Monitor, inspect, analyze and interpret statistical/test data for equipment performance
- Optimize/improve output in various operations areas
- Must possess the ability to lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
Basic Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Automation Technology OR Certification in Automation Engineering Technology OR a substantially related field of Military training OR a minimum of 80 hours towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Technology OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated automation knowledge, troubleshooting or testing
- Demonstrated knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and robot programming
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Must possess the ability to lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years related Electronics Technician or Engineering Technician experience
