Position Title: Automation Technician
Wage: $19.50-$30/hour
Hours: 6:20pm-6:30am

Automation Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set-up or convert automated equipment within specifications of work orders, company and OSHA regulated safety procedures, and company quality guidelines
- Perform required housekeeping, keeping all automation storage areas organized to a 5S standard
- Communicate and coordinate work efforts with other departments and employees
- Calculate and maintain rates
- Document quality checks, repair, adjustments, and maintenance activities
- Analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, or repair electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical components on automated and semi-automated equipment
- Perform adjustments, repairs, and maintenance on machines in a manner that complies with company safety and workmanship expectations
- Adjust, modify, and/or fabrication of parts to existing equipment
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to equipment when necessary or assigned to
- Follow provided work instructions to ensure proper lubricants and inspections are done to satisfactory standards
- Complete teardown, dismantle and reassemble without misassembling components is expected
- Minimize faults, alarms, and product scrap by proposing solutions or improvements to the equipment or manufacturing process through constructive thinking and collaborating with affected departments
- Maintain and advance skill level by attending seminars and vendor training to keep up with current and future automation technologies
- Troubleshoot PLC's to minimize downtime; editing or modifying a PLC is not a required primary function of an Automation Technician
Automation Technician Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school associates degree or similar preferred
- Proven electrical, pneumatic, and/or mechanical knowledge
- Working knowledge of PLC's is expected; PLC programming and editing preferred
- Mechanical maintenance experience preferred
- Able to properly operate a forklift, scissor lift, overhead crane, and pallet hand jack
- Stand, walk, climb, kneel, and bend for up to 12 hours, or more on occasion
- Safely use hand and power tools
- Good dexterity, as some repairs or adjustments require loosening and tightening hardware in tight or hard to reach areas
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 70 pounds
- Able to visually inspect product and packaging quality according to company quality standards while wearing approved safety eyewear
- Able to communicate effectively and follow work instructions
- Able to work overtime on weekends and adapt work schedule to meet company needs on occasion
- Advanced PC skills and knowledge
