Automation Maintenance TechPosition Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for an Automation Maintenance Mulit-craft Tech to provide maintenance support to the facility's automation equipment. This position will serve to ensure day-to-day operation and reliability.
Schedules for this role will be 12-hours non-rotating shifts (7PM-7AM) or (7AM to 7PM).
This position is located in Aiken, South Carolina.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in pre-shift meetings with Supervisors
- Complete scheduled PMs as assigned
- Complete and input work orders
- Replace faulty or broken components on automation equipment
- Inspect/PM wheels/casters/brushes on automation equipment
- Inspect/PM battery chargers for automation equipment
- Inspect/PM/Clean reflectors associated with automation equipment operation
- Perform general maintenance tasks related to automation
- Assist in start-up/shut-down of automation equipment coming in and out of plant outages
- Complete and input work orders for red flag mechanical or electrical failures
- Follow-up on production issues
- Coordinate and participate with higher level technician/electrician to repair automation issues that are above the technician's skill level
- Adhere to shift attendance policies and work overtime as required
- Support Supervisor(s), Process Engineer(s) and Department Manager(s)
- Attend trainings as necessary (Safety, soft skills, technical skills, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with LOTO training
- Ensure compliance with PIT training
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety training
- Ensure compliance with all Shaw Safety Policies, Human Resource Policies & Standards of Conduct
- Complete DOS as a part of growth and development
- Automation equipment includes but is not limited to cobots, AGVs, robotic arms, ASRSs, auto doffers, etc.
- Ensure daily housekeeping is upheld
Requirements:
- Basic computer knowledge
- No written or final disciplinary warnings for attendance or job performance in the past year
- Willingness to continuously learn Twisting and upstream production processes Good background in basic mechanical and electrical work
- Display good work habits
- Display effective communication skills
- Demonstrate good leadership qualities
- Ability to have crucial conversations with assigned associates as needed
- GED or high school diploma
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous leadership experience
- Previous experience in Twisting process
