Automation Field Service Technician
PE GROUP (PRESEZZI EXTRUSION GROUP) is an Italian Engineering and Manufacturing Company specializing in
the research, developing, and manufacturing of “STATE OF THE ART” complete Extrusion Plants for Aluminum,
Copper and Brass.

The candidate will be part of the growing team for sales and customer support in North America (Canada, USA
and Mexico).
Achieves successful on-site servicing and repair of complex equipment and systems without direct supervision.
You will participate in continuous improvement initiatives in the field to quickly fix administrative difficulties
relating to the delivery of service.
You will train the customer on proper usage, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures for complex
equipment. You will deliver and participate in training sessions for fellow technicians.
Under the responsibility of the Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer will perform on-site installation,
service, and repair of complex extrusion equipment and will verify and approve the equipment's operational
quality.
The Field Service Engineer position is ideal for a self-motivated adventurer, as there will be travel, both
domestic and international.
Initial training on our systems will be conducted in our headquarters in Vimercate-Italy.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Perform repair work on demand
• Provide internal and external customer support
• Adhere to administrative processes
• Ability to work non-standard hours.
• Ability to service clients in Canada, the USA, Mexico, and South America.
• Assists Customers, Technical and Engineering departments to resolve field issues/calls.
• Capable of getting online with supported PLC’s navigating program as a diagnostic tool
• Develop or modify the software according to the inputs received from the headquarter
• Startup of the machines at the Customer facilities
• Teach to the operators the correct use of the machine
• Completes the service and expense reports using the Field Service Software package for reporting
time, labor, travel, etc.
• Communicates with other colleagues to discuss solutions to problems
• Conducts minor Mechanical related repairs to equipment and systems; belts, replacing rollers, direct
swap of motor/reducers, change electro valves, etc.
• Conducts low voltage Electrical related repairs to equipment and systems; installing and wiring,
encoders, linear transducers, photo-eyes, proxy switches, 24VDC solenoid valves, etc.
• Conducts high voltage Electrical related repairs to equipment and systems; installing and wiring 3
phase motors, Motor Starters, wiring and programming VFDs, etc.
• Conducts pre-site visits with customers and plans service activities and preventive maintenance.
• Assists customer maintenance staff on preventative and mechanical issues
• Communicates upgrade opportunities and makes recommendations as needed
• Conducts rebuilds on-field equipment
• May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Job Requirements:
• 0-3 years’ experience in Industrial / Manufacturing / Field Service environments (Ideally integrator,
machine builder environments); or a combination of relevant technical experience and education
• Availability to work evening and weekend hours or varying work patterns depending on market
needs
• Ability to be on-call and respond to customer emergencies.
• You will travel Up to 60/70% domestic and/or international travel are required.
• Ability to proactively and productively work remotely, as well as within a team environment.
• Ability to train and mentor service providers and integrators during installation and commissioning
of Presezzi lines.
• You have the ability to program HMI, PLC, and Drives (Siemens, Rockwell)
• You have the ability to perform I/O and functionality test
• Pneumatics electrical controls
• Hydraulics electrical controls
• Electrical safety switches and controls
• AC/ DC circuits
• You are able to read and comprehend electrical schematics
• Low voltage wiring and components
• You are able to assemble Wire ways, trays, and conduit runs
• High voltage 480V wiring and components
• You are able to execute proper use of electrical test equipment
• You are able to execute electrical Safety standards and wiring
• You have knowledge of lock-out, tag-out, and other standard safety practices
• You have the ability to identify and maintain a safe work environment
• You have excellent organizational and Problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s license.
Desired Skills
• A second language (Spanish, Italian) is not necessary but it will be a plus
• Experience in the Aluminum Extrusion process
• Experience in Maintenance of Extrusion Presses and Extrusion Equipment
• Good experience in Hydraulic systems (Oilgear and Rexroth)
