Job Details
Position Duties:
As an Automation Engineer, you will contribute to the design, programming, installation, testing, and support of Water/Wastewater control systems. These systems encompass various components, from instrumentation to data collection.
Design, program, and configure control systems to meet end-user needs.
Perform in-house programming and testing for PLCs, OIT, and HMI systems.
Assist municipal clients with instrumentation setup, installation, and system testing.
Provide guidance to junior staff as needed.
Potential for advancement into a management role.
Willingness to be on-call 24/7 for system troubleshooting, with a <15-minute response time.
Occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Skills/Experience:
ABET-accredited Engineering or Technology degree.
5+ years of experience in Electrical/Controls Engineering, including design, programming, installation, and startup.
5+ years of experience with Allen-Bradley Logix PLCs.
5+ years of fieldwork experience, including panel wiring and emergency support.
3+ years of experience with SCADA software development (e.g., FactoryTalk View SE, Ignition, Wonderware, or iFix).
3+ years of experience programming Allen-Bradley PanelView touch screens.
Proficient in computer skills and software, with Visio experience as a plus.
Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to undertake self-development activities.
Must have reliable transportation for travel to various locations (reimbursable).
