We are on the hunt for a dynamic and innovative Automation Engineer to join our team!
Responsibilities:
Experienced in the design, implementation, and testing of automation system graphics, I/O databases, control modules, interlocks, alarms, sequences, and recipes, including the management of associated life-cycle documentation.
Skilled in developing configuration standards for automation system project execution to ensure efficiency and consistency across projects.
Proficient in managing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) documentation, including User Requirements Specifications (URS), Functional Specifications (FS), Design Specifications (DS), Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM), and validation documents (IQ, OQ). Expertise in creating, reviewing, approving, and managing documentation within document control repositories.
Strong ability to interpret and redline P&IDs, electrical drawings, and control narratives, both on-site and in automation panels.
Capable of configuring and testing batch codes, including units, phases, operations, procedures, and recipes, with a focus on implementing exception logic.
Well-versed in the application of industry standards such as GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and ISA S88/S95 for automated systems and process control.
Experienced in executing regulated testing, including Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ), and leveraging Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to streamline validation efforts.
Support experience for ongoing operations, including change control and release processes as part of the operational lifecycle.
Knowledge of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), including conducting investigations, root cause analysis, documentation, and providing actionable solutions.
Familiar with bioprocessing equipment and operations, including media preparation, bioreactors, fermentors, harvest equipment, chromatography systems, filtration systems, fillers, isolators, and packaging systems.
Understanding of critical utilities, such as clean steam, Water for Injection (WFI), purified water, compressed air, and nitrogen gas, as well as cleaning processes like CIP and SIP.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science). Master of Science degree is preferred.
2. Minimum of 2-8 years of experience in automation engineering in the biotech or scientific industry.
3. Strong knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.
6. Technology experience with one of the following: Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell family of PLCs, PanelView family, FactoryTalk View SE, Siemens, ABB DCS 800xA, AVEVA, Honeywell Experion, DeviceNet, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Modbus, HART
7. Proficiency in using automation software and technologies.
8. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
9. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
10. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
11. Willing to relocate for 1-3 years for projects, potentially out of the country
