Automation/Controls Engineer - Gpac

Our client is a growth-oriented organization who fosters a friendly workplace. They are looking for their next Controls Engineer to join a talented team using the latest technologies to provide innovative solutions for their clients. You will design, implement, and configure new automation systems, upgrade older machinery, and enhance existing manufacturing lines in various industries.
Responsibilities:
- Review customer requirements, select components, design machine control layouts, and program PLC and HMI systems
- Implement software solutions including PLC, HMI, and third-party device programming
- Perform software installation, I/O testing, and debugging for PLC and HMI software
- Participate in product and system design reviews, machine testing, installation, and start-up
- Design and develop electrical control systems interfacing with manufacturing equipment
Requirements:
- BS EE Degree or equivalent electrical/electronic control experience (preferred)
- 2+ years in industrial electrical/machine control system design
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude; process control equipment experience
- Knowledge of VFDs, coordinated drive systems, and motion control systems
- Advanced PLC programming skills (Rockwell Automation RS Logix 500, RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, Connected Components Workbench; Siemens S7, PCS7 is a plus)
- Familiarity with network and communication protocols, and HMI systems (Rockwell Automation Factory Talk View Studio SE/ME; Siemens WinCC, Wonderware InTouch is a plus)
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Experience designing systems to safety standards, vision systems, and robot programming (all are pluses)
