Position Summary: The contract Automation Engineer will be responsible to bring an automation project to completion including, but not limited to, PLC debugging and programming, robotic automation debugging and programming, vision systems programming, etc. to ensure safety, part quality and equipment OEE / performance are attained.

Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of an Automation Engineer for a contract position in Marinette, WI. The opportunity will be ten months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary: The contract Automation Engineer will be responsible to bring an automation project to completion including, but not limited to, PLC debugging and programming, robotic automation debugging and programming, vision systems programming, etc. to ensure safety, part quality and equipment OEE / performance are attained.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Works with project engineer to understand process and equipment and the gap to completion
- Conceives, investigates, evaluates, and makes changes to improve the functionality of the equipment.
- Utilizes systematic problem solving and data collection to Identify and resolve problems, including driving cost and downtime reduction.
- Writes weekly activity and project reports, develops action plans, and generates work instructions, test procedures and other documentation to support production operations.
- Comply with the following Environmental, Health and Safety duties as a condition of employment:
- Comply with EHS rules.
- Lead the work area with a safe culture mindset.
- Support employees in their decision to shut down unsafe or environmentally damaging equipment or processes.
- Ensure completion of EHS training by all Employees. Participate actively in the safety process.
- Ask questions if something isn't known.
- Initiate an investigation on all accidents and injuries immediately.
- Submit suggestions to improve EHS and take action on suggestions submitted by employees.
- Act as emergency management coordinator for meeting locations and shelter areas. Initiate accountability in the event of an emergency. (i.e. what to do in the event of an alarm for fire, chemical spills, tornados, etc.).
- Be a coach to others who are acting unsafely.
- Ensure the completion of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste trainings. Ability to recognize deficiencies in chemical labeling.
- Coordination in minor spill management and clean-up.
- Capability to enforce satellite accumulation rules and requirements.
- Proficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BS) Electrical or Automation Engineering in a relevant discipline from an accredited university.
- Candidates with exceptional relevant work experience may be considered in Iieu of a Bachelor's degree
- Relevant engineering experience supporting manufacturing to improve methods and processes.
- Proficient knowledge of efficient troubleshooting methods.
- Demonstrated track record of solving problems quickly & using automation concepts and integration skills
- Must possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

- Allen Bradley RSLogix PLC
- Cognex vision systems
