Take your engineering career to the next level! My client, a leader in building custom automation solutions, is hiring an Automation Controls Engineer in their suburban Chicago plant. This in-person role offers the chance to split time between automation system design work in the office and hands-on implementation on the shop floor, working on cutting-edge systems for industries like medical, automotive, and cosmetics.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Design electrical and controls systems based on engineering principles.
- Develop and maintain standardized machine control platforms.
- Prepare project documentation, including machine sequences and electrical schematics.
- Collaborate on design reviews and ensure compliance with safety and legal standards.
- Build, wire, and debug electrical and pneumatic systems for automation equipment.
- Integrate components such as robots, vision systems, and dispensers into machine controls.
- Travel occasionally (10%) to commission machines at customer facilities
- Create comprehensive customer documentation, including manuals and diagrams
About You
- Be able to do the job as described.
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Skilled in Allen Bradley PLC programming from scratch using RSLogix 5000 software
- Familiar with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of control and electrical system design, including vision, sensors, and communication systems.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and U.S. work authorization.
