Job Overview:
We are looking for an Automation Control Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation systems that improve manufacturing efficiency and flexibility. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical design, PLC/HMI programming, and troubleshooting automation systems. You will be part of a diverse, dynamic team that values innovation, learning, and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement machine tending automation systems, including CNC machine tools, robots, washers, gages, and other equipment.
- Interface automation systems with PLC/HMI (Allen-Bradley preferred), robots (Fanuc), vision systems (iRvision or Cognex), and other industrial components.
- Program and configure PLCs, robots, vision systems, and industrial peripherals.
- Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues in the field.
- Perform automation cell runoff at the factory and customer sites.
- Prepare detailed design specifications and documentation for automation systems.
- Provide customer training and ongoing technical support.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience with industrial automation systems, robotics, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong skills in electrical design, wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in PLC, HMI, Robot, and Vision programming (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, iRvision/Cognex).
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).
- Experience with safety circuits and safety relay/controller configuration.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new automation technologies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to document technical information clearly and effectively.
Work Environment:
- A general office environment with occasional time spent in manufacturing settings.
Training & Development:
We offer ongoing training to keep our team members at the forefront of technology, including:
- CNC machine tool operation and programming (Fanuc/Mitsubishi/Siemens).
- Fanuc robot handling and programming.
- Vision programming with iRvision, Cognex, and Keyence.
- Safety controller configuration (Banner/Pilz).
- Rockwell Automation PLC/HMI programming and Wonderware HMI development.
Additional Information:
- Must be authorized to work in the USA.
- No H-1B visa sponsorship available.
- Occasional travel (up to 30%) is required.
