As a member of the Auto Managed Care Department, the adjusters handle first party no-fault PIP (personal injury protection) and medical payments coverage for personal and commercial auto claims with a focus on financial accuracy, appropriate file disposition, and adherence to statutory guidelines. This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, San Antonio, TX, Lake Mary, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Naperville, IL) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.
Start Date: Jan 20, 2025
Location: Remote or Hybrid
Training Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm EST (2 weeks)
Regular Hours: Monday - Friday Core Business Hours, no weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Timely investigating claims to determine first party medical coverage. applicability, verification of medical damages, interpretation of medical documentation, ongoing medical management to include utilization of tools to mitigate claim severity while focusing on accurate outcomes along with potential subrogation.
Provide exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers through adherence to The Hartford’s standards of communication.
Ability to make decisions with the customer at the center of everything we do.
Utilize critical thinking skills to gather and analyze information and data to make sound decisions.
Continually evaluate self against performance targets and strive to exceed expectations.

Qualifications:
High School diploma required; College degree preferred.
NY PIP experience required
Required 2+ years of proven claim handling experience (Auto and/or Workers Comp injury claims handling experience preferred).
Preferred background of medical terminology.

Work core hours based on the time zones of the States that you are assigned to handle.
As a condition of your employment: You must obtain and maintain a State Adjuster's License to process Property & Casualty Insurance Claims in the states of your handling jurisdiction. Continued employment with The Hartford is contingent upon the successful passage of the Licensing exam(s) within 30 business days from the completion of the licensing training.

Student Loan Paydown Program – eligible to participate after 6 months of service. Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$52,560 - $78,840
