About the Job
Our Client is seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles that have sustained non-structural damage such as dents, scratches, and minor body damage. The ideal candidate should have experience in repairing and replacing damaged body panels and using specialized tools and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough assessments of non-structural damage on vehicles to determine the scope of repairs needed.
- Repairing and replacing damaged body panels with new or used parts, depending on the customer's preference and budget.
- Sanding, filling, welding, and smoothing vehicle surfaces to prepare them for painting.
- Utilizing specialized tools and equipment to repair dents, scratches, and other non-structural damage.
- Communicating effectively with team members and to ensure clear understanding of repair needs and timelines.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto body repair, with an emphasis on non-structural repairs.
- Knowledge of painting techniques and use of specialized tools and equipment.
- Ability to mix and match paint to achieve an exact color match.
- Experience in repairing dents, scratches, and other non-structural damage.
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders and technical manuals.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Relevant certification(s) such as ASE Non-Structural Technician or I-CAR Gold Class certification is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
