Role: Senior Accountant
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000/annually
Location: Long Island City, NY - *Hybrid* - 3 days a week in office!
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Assistant VP of Accounting, the Senior Accountant will oversee financial reporting, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and manage various accounting functions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting:
o Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
o Analyze financial data and generate reports for management review.
o Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
o Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
• General Ledger Management:
o Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and timely.
o Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
o Adhere to the monthly close schedule set forth by the Controller.
• Analytics:
o Assist in preparing Income Statement/Balance sheet variance analysis and forecasts.
o Monitor material variances and provide management insights.
• Audit and Compliance:
o Support external audit activities and preparation of audit schedules.
o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and assist with any filings around tax reporting.
• Team Collaboration:
o Mentor and train other accounting staff as appropriate.
o Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Systems and Process Improvements:
o Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and implement approved improvements.
o Assist in implementing and upkeep accounting software e.g. NetSuite, related integrations and additional Accounting tools.
