Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute financial and operational audits in accordance with the company's annual audit plan.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and make recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare and present audit findings to senior management, highlighting areas of risk and suggesting practical solutions.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors, providing necessary information and answering queries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
- Participate in special projects as required, including due diligence assignments, fraud investigations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the audit team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting and/or internal audit.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or retail environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles would be an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel as needed for audit assignments.
