We are seeking an AV Systems Estimator, who is entrusted with accurately evaluating project specifications and preparing comprehensive cost estimates and competitive bids for audio, video, and lighting installations. This vital role encompasses analysis of project specifications, collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, and offering precise and punctual cost forecasts to fortify the sales and project management processes. Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications, architectural drafts, and other pertinent documents to comprehend the extent and demands of AV system installations.
- Join forces with sales units, project overseers, and clientele to accumulate project specifics, elucidate requirements, and pinpoint unique stipulations or considerations.
- Implement thorough material evaluations and quantity assessments to determine necessary equipment, components, wires, and accessories for each endeavor.
- Investigate and procure AV products, tools, and systems from diverse vendors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to project necessities and fiscal constraints.
- Furnish intricate cost estimates for manpower, materials, tools, and outsourced services derived from project details and preset pricing metrics.
- Use estimating software/tools to craft precise and segmented cost analyses, inclusive of pricing for tools, installation, amalgamation, coding, and project oversight.
- Coordinate closely with internal wings such as engineering, operations, and purchasing to verify cost forecasts and receive essential feedback and endorsements.
- Engage with vendors, ancillary contractors, and suppliers to collect quotes, bargain for prices, and confirm the accessibility of mandated materials and services.
- Draft and forward competitive tenders, propositions, or quotations within set timelines, adhering to organizational norms and protocols.
- Uphold precise and current records of forecasts, tender documents, correspondences, and affiliated documentation.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in fields like Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Construction Management, or similar domains. Consideration may be given to equivalent practical experience.
- Established track record (3-5 years) in estimating or cost projections, ideally in the audiovisual or construction sector.
- Profound understanding of audio, video, and lighting mechanisms, including tools, components, fitting methodologies, and amalgamation prerequisites.
- Familiarity with principles of AV system design, construction techniques, and industrial benchmarks (e.g., InfoComm, CEDIA).
- Aptitude in leveraging estimating software/tools to craft detailed cost analyses and quotes.
- Superior analytical and mathematical prowess to interpret project specifics, conduct evaluations, and compute quantities and expenses.
- Effective conversational and negotiation capabilities for interaction with internal groups, clients, vendors, and secondary contractors.
- Rigorous attention to precision and exactness in estimating, budgeting, and cost projections.
- Autonomy in operations, capacity to oversee multiple tasks concurrently, and commitment to deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
