About the Job
Nemours is seeking an Audiologist for our Abington, PA and Malvern, PA locations.Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor. Based on programmatic need and licensure requirements will be required to provide inpatient/outpatient coverage at various locations associated with Nemours throughout the DE Valley. Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, and young adults; Able to provide audiology services to a wide variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed. Completes timely documentation and billing as required by hospital policies, Joint Commission, and departmental standards. Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member. Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment (Hearing aids, cochlear implants, other assistive technology, etc), home/school modifications and appropriate follow up for further diagnostic testing and care. Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to Audiology department. Completes all mandatory training; may include, but not limited to safety, infection control, corporate compliance, HIPAA, bioterrorism, CPR and program specific respiratory training. Participates in triage and coverage planning as necessary to meet patient care and departmental needs. When required by assignment, participates in weekend and/or evening hours to ensure coverage as dictated by business needs. Team Work, mentoring and preceptorship: Participates in conflict identification and resolution. Works cooperatively on multidisciplinary, single discipline, program specific and specialty teams. Assists in maintenance of department space and equipment. Precepts students, residents, and new associates as assigned. Professional Development: Independently seeks to expand clinical knowledge and evidenced based practice through literature reviews, in-services, courses and mentorships. Attends audiology meetings as scheduled.

Primary Function-
Provides a wide variety of pediatric audiology diagnostic and intervention services including documentation, parent/caregiver education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate within the guidelines designated by the department and the Delaware Valley policies and procedures.
Maintains core competencies and any additional competencies determined to be necessary by the management team to ensure patient care needs are met.
Essential Functions-
- Must hold a primary license
- All clinical staff will maintain dual licensure (DE, PA, or NJ)
- BLS certification Basic Life Support (within 6 months of date of hire) and must be maintained for duration of employment
- Member of professional specialty organizations (ASHA, AAA, ABA, etc.) preferred.
- Clinical affiliation and/or work experience in pediatrics is preferred. Experience with physically and/or mentally challenged populations preferred
- Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree is the entry-level degree to obtain a new license to practice Audiology. AuD preferred. Individuals with a Master's Degree will be considered if existing DE license is held (must be eligible for DE Audiology License).
