Audio Visual Intern or Part-Time Audio Visual Production Assistant - Center for Jewish History

About the Job
The Center for Jewish History, a preeminent Fifth Avenue cultural institution, library, and museum located in midtown Manhattan (near Union Square) and home to one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of Jewish history and archives in the world, will be engaging a fall audio/visual intern for live events production.
Location: On-site
Hours: Based on events schedule (regular evening and Sunday availability desired)
Dates: September - December 2023 (dates are flexible) *Could start earlier*
Responsibilities
-Operates audio visual equipment during live events. (Yamaha TF Digital Console, Tricaster TC-1 Video Switcher, Powerpoint, live streaming, hybrid meetings using Zoom, basic lighting, PTZ camera operation)
-Stage management (cabling, set up, micing)
-Preparing on stage/ on air talent for segments.
-Recording live events
-Managing live stream credentials
-Minor setup/strike functions
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree candidate or recent graduate who has a passion for working with Entertainment Technology and producing Live and Hybrid Events. Should be interested in art, history, performing arts, events, or visitor services.
-Strong communication skills
-An interest in working with public audiences, with the ability to interact professionally with event producers, talent and CJH Staff.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
-Flexible to handle shifting demands
-Proficient in MS office, including Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook. Should be familiar with basic principles of AV over IP.
-Basic knowledge of video switching, audio mixing, video editing and graphics helpful.
Compensation
This position offers the applicable minimum wage. If you are pursuing course credit in addition to the provided stipend for this position, please check with your school advisor for their individual internship policy, requirements, and restrictions.
