Job Details
As a key member of our team, the Attorney will be responsible for:
1. Handling all legal matters related to construction including contract disputes, builder's liens, bond claims, and construction defects.
2. Providing legal advice and support on a range of legal activities from negotiations, disputes to litigation.
3. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
4. Representing the company in court and before government agencies, presenting evidence and arguments as necessary.
5. Conducting research and analysis of legal problems and interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for the organization.
6. Advising the company on changes to the laws affecting the construction industry.
7. Collaborating with management to devise efficient defense strategies.
8. Ensuring compliance with all internal controls, policies, and procedures in the execution of contracts and legal agreements.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess the following qualifications:
1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney, preferably within the construction industry.
3. A current license to practice law and in good standing.
4. Proven experience in litigation and court procedures.
5. Exceptional knowledge of construction laws and regulations.
6. Proficient in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents.
7. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions based on complex legal scenarios.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain legal terms and conditions clearly and effectively.
9. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
10. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
