Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of environmental issues, including compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Represent clients in environmental litigation cases, including those involving the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).
- Conduct environmental risk assessments and provide guidance on mitigation strategies.
- Assist with real estate transactions, mergers, and acquisitions, ensuring environmental compliance and minimizing risk.
- Provide legal counsel on corporate environmental issues, health care law, real estate law, and government law.
- Handle permitting processes and compliance counseling for clients in the energy sector, with a focus on renewable energy.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in natural resources law and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to the Wisconsin Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental law, including experience with environmental litigation, regulatory compliance, and remediation.
- Proven experience in real estate transactions, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Profound knowledge of corporate environmental issues, health care law, real estate law, and government law.
- Familiarity with WDNR and USEPA regulations and procedures.
- Experience in the energy sector, particularly with renewable energy, is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
