Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced attorney to serve as our In-House Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Texas employment law, healthcare regulations, contract law, and litigation. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in ensuring compliance, managing legal risks, and promoting the wellbeing of our residents and staff.
Responsibilities:
Ø Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal matters, with a focus on Texas employment law, healthcare regulations, contracts, and litigation.
Ø Advise management and staff on compliance with state and federal laws and regulations governing employment practices and healthcare operations.
Ø Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to the operation of the facility, including vendor contracts, provider agreements, and employment contracts.
Ø Conduct legal research and stay informed about developments in Texas employment law, healthcare law, litigation trends, and related areas.
Ø Represent the organization in legal proceedings, including administrative hearings, regulatory investigations, and litigation, as needed.
Ø Develop and deliver training programs on legal issues affecting the organization, including employee relations, risk management, and compliance.
Qualifications:
Ø Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Ø Admission to the State Bar of Texas.
Ø Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with expertise in Texas employment law, healthcare regulations, contract law, and litigation.
Ø Strong knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to the long-term care industry.
Ø Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ø Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Ø Prior experience working in the long-term care industry or healthcare law is preferred but not required.
