Responsibilities:
Attorney (Labor and Employment), you will be expected to:
1. Provide legal counsel on a broad range of labor and employment issues such as labor relations, employee benefits, wage and hour, harassment, discrimination, employment contracts, and terminations.
2. Represent the organization before federal and state agencies, courts, and tribunals in labor and employment related matters.
3. Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, opinions, and briefs on labor and employment law issues.
4. Develop and implement employment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
5. Provide training to managers and employees on labor and employment law topics.
6. Negotiate, draft, and review employment contracts and other labor and employment related agreements.
7. Work collaboratively with other members of the legal team and cross-functional teams to address labor and employment issues.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Attorney (Labor and Employment) position will have:
1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar.
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, preferably in a corporate setting.
4. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
5. Experience representing organizations before federal and state agencies, courts, and tribunals in labor and employment related matters.
6. Strong negotiation, drafting, and legal research skills.
7. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
11. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
