About the Job
The City of Everett Parks Department is currently accepting applications for seasonal Athletics Day Laborers. This employment is temporary (up to six months in duration). It is mandatory that the employee in this position contribute to the Washington State Public Employees Retirement System. This contribution is refundable upon the employees request at the completion of employment. A work permit fee of $12.00 per pay period must also be paid to AFSCME Local No. 113. These positions are not provided with City of Everett benefits.
NATURE OF WORK
Workers may perform a variety of unskilled physical tasks associated with the maintenance of athletic fields or facilities under the supervision of a full-time parks and facilities employee or a Seasonal Lead Day Laborer; however, Day Laborers may be required to work independently at times.

NATURE OF WORK

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Depending on area of assignment, the qualifications listed are desirable:
- Knowledge of maintenance of athletic fields or facilities.
- Knowledge of the use of parks maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of safety precautions and the ability to identify hazards
- Ability and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions and to keep accurate work records.
- Ability to operate small hand and power tools and light equipment, autos, and pickup trucks.
- Ability and willingness to establish and maintain effective working relations with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
- Ability and willingness to support diversity and multi-cultural understanding in the workplace.
- Ability and willingness to maintain a work environment free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
- Ability and willingness to be punctual and dependable.
- Ability and willingness to perform strenuous labor tasks under varying environmental conditions.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including, but not limited to, weekends and holidays.
- Ability and willingness to work safely and in compliance with city policies and standards.
- Depending on area of assignment may be required to possess, or be able to obtain prior to appointment, a valid Washington State driver's license.
- Prior to employment, must submit a motor vehicle driving record abstract.
