We at Fairview Health Services are looking for an Athletic Trainer to be based out of our Blaine location and assigned to a local high school! This position is guaranteed 80 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible. This position will be providing athletic training services to a dedicated high school in the Twin Cities Metro Area and will be supporting in clinic Orthopedic Surgeons and Sports Medicine non-operative providers a few mornings each week at our North Metro locations.
Responsibilities Job Description
This Athletic Trainer will work in a diverse high school with 12 different mens and women's programs in development; the AT will provide athletic training room coverage from 3:00 - 6:00 pm Monday - Friday and cover events 2-4 days a week. The coaching staff at this school are passionate partners with M Health Fairview and make our Athletic Trainers feel like we an essential component of the school.
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for safe and effective direct delivery of patient care including patient evaluation, treatment, reassessment, and discharge planning.
+ Evaluates Athletes for injuries, determines level of care needed, and handles emergent injuries
+ Communicates accurate follow-up care to athletes and families, coaches and any other medical support personnel
+ Coordinates referrals to medical personnel as well as provides education to improve outcome
+ Determines playability of injured athletes in both practice and competition
At M Health Fairview we stive to keep our patients safe and the ability to intervene before an injury occurs is our goal. Understanding how to prevent injuries is as meaningful as treating the injury. The ideal AT is able to partner with the coaching staff to ensure all athletes are contending in a safe environment.
Qualifications
Required
+ Board of Certification Cert. Athletic Trainer upon hire
+ Licensed as an Athletic Trainer with the MN Board of Medical Practice upon hire
+ CPR/BLS upon hire
Preferred
+ Membership of the National Athletic Training Association
