JOB SUMMARY:
The Athletic Manager will provide administrative support to the athletic department which includes, conducting student athlete registration, verifying student eligibility, maintaining coaching certification files, preparing materials and correspondence, confirming team schedules, coordinating officials for all game contests, and coordinating transportation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develop correspondence, prepare sports rosters, athletic apparel orders, coaching manuals, game passes, programs, newsletters, certificates and guides.
- Schedule and record minutes of meetings for the Athletic Director and maintain files.
- Answering telephones, routing telephone calls or messages to appropriate staff, and sorting incoming and outgoing mail.
- Update the school athletic calendar
- Conduct student athlete registration, verify student eligibility, maintain coaching certification files, confirm team schedules, coordinate officials for all game contests
- Completes computer data entry work, using District computer programs, to input a high volume of data with speed and accuracy, including confidential data.
- Maintain all confidential student athletic records including, physicals, GPAs, insurance forms, fees and fines.
- Processes athletic purchase orders, tracks expenses, and ensures budgetary compliance. Make bank deposits as needed, reconcile bank statements, and prepare monthly financial reports for the Athletic Department.
- Make transportation and travel arrangements for athletic teams and coaches to and from athletic events.
- Assists in organizing pep rallies and updates athletic display boards.
- Assists in contacting financial sponsors, communicating with the Booster club, and with fundraising projects.
- Manage all insurance records and claim/accident forms and ensure proper completion.
- Represents the school and the District in interactions with students, staff, parents, and community members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Five (5) years of full time, paid, progressively responsible administrative and managerial experience which included typing, general clerical training or equivalent combination of education and experience deemed acceptable by WPSD.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
- Possess a First Aid certificate

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis
- Indoor office environment is subject to frequent interruptions
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to walk, sit, bend, stand, use hands for fine manipulations, handle or handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal.
- Required by this job to have specific vision abilities which include close vision, distance
- vision, ability to adjust focus on peripheral vision.
- Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and supplies
- Lifting objects with a strength factor of light work
- Occasional bending, reaching and stretching
- Occasional kneeling, crouching and squatting
- Occasional pulling, pushing
LEVEL OF COMPENSATION: In accrodance with the collective bargaining agreement.
