Ast Professor - Fixed Term
### Position Summary
- Participate when available in the development and revisions of program mission, vision, goals, meetings and ongoing program self-assessment / program evaluation activities.
- Generate and deliver classroom lectures and clinical skills instruction within the basic medical and clinical science topics for which he/she is assigned.
- Participate when available in curriculum development, curriculum evaluation, remedial instruction, student evaluation, and scheduling of the PA medicine curriculum
- Teaching as Instructor of Record or Instructional faculty for assigned courses within the PA Medicine Curriculum.
- Participate when available in admissions processes by scoring applications, interviewing candidates, student recruitment and rendering student selection decisions.
- Assist when available in the ongoing sustainability and development of the interprofessional educational experiences of the PA Medicine program.
- Participate in accreditation activities to assist in maintaining compliance with ARC-PA requirements.
- Perform Academic advising, mentoring, instruct, and evaluate students within areas of expertise as assigned.
- Participate when available in activities of state, regional, and national organizations to promote a positive image of the PA concept within academic, lay, and professional communities.
- Participate as a member of program-level committees.
- Represent when available the PA Medicine Program through service on university-level committees.
- Participate in clinical year data collection, analysis, maintenance, and reporting.
- Perform clinical site development and preceptor onboarding
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

### Required Degree
Doctorate -Physician Assistant
### Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree in physician assistant studies from an accredited program
- Current NCCPA Certification
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant clinical experience with at least 2 years precepting/instructing PA students or medical students
- A valid physician assistant license for the State of Michigan or eligibility to obtain such licensure
OR
- Doctoral degree, DO or MD with active Board certification and state licensure in Michigan or eligibility to obtain such licensure
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant clinical experience with at least 2 years precepting/instructing PA students or medical students
### Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated abilities in teaching and curriculum development.
- Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, administrators, and the public.
- Familiarity with the use of computers for organization, word processing, and communication.
- Enthusiastic about working in a collaborative environment.
- Self-motivated with refined organizational skills.
- Experience with ARC-PA accreditation standards and requirements
