About the Job
We are seeking a self-motivated individual to support the warehouse Manager in the day to day running of the warehouse ensuring that all Key Performance Indicators and objectives are met. The Assistant Warehouse Manager must be a strategic thinker, self-starter and a hands-on individual. The Assistant Warehouse Manager acts as a role model for the rest of the team and progressively promotes and maintains standards and acts as back-up for the Manager in his absence.

Manage a team of associates while relaying expectations, managing performance, providing feedback, and supporting career development. Delegate effectively to drive results in your team, including executing standard operating procedures, identifying areas of improvement,
Responsibilities will encompass a broad range of Management and Technical activities associated with warehouse management including but not limited to:
- Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving.
• Monitoring and maintaining superior service levels
• Participate in the rotation of management duties e.g. – Receiving & Dispatching
• Directing warehouse personnel in performing their duties as per their job description
• Ensuring that new employees are appropriately inducted & supported and their progress regularly reviewed throughout their probationary period
• Ensuring that standards are reviewed regularly and constant attention is given to developing all team members. (Including performance monitoring and coaching.)
• Ensuring that all staffing issues and disciplinary matters are dealt with in line with Company policies
• Play a key role in ensuring that team harmony is optimized at all times
Ensured team follows GMP and SQF standards
• Overseeing housekeeping – Safety & Health standards are maintained
• Supporting the Manager in regular team meetings
• Scheduling & monitoring work breaks at proper times
Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Strong communications skills – written and verbal
• Strong computer skills
• Customer focused
• Minimum of secondary education level
• A “Can Do” attitude is essential
