GENERAL PURPOSE:
Primary function of the Human Resource Associate Director is to oversee and direct HR practices, policies and programs for the Medical Center Departments assigned to their team including the areas of a culture of inclusion and equity, compensation administration, employee engagement, performance management, and learning and development as well as insuring that the organization is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In addition, the position works closely with the AVP for human resources in developing, implementing and evaluating ongoing HR strategy, policies, programs, functions and activities. A key performance element of this position is to assure that the HRBPs are functioning in alignment with business objectives and the HR Strategic Plan with employees and management in designated business units. The position also serves as a consultant to senior level management on human resource-related issues. The successful Associate Director for URMC HR acts as an employee champion and change agent working closely with their direct reports to develop, implement and evaluate HR programs, policies, functions and activities that support the successful management and utilization of Human Capitol to achieve business goals in alignment with the organization's overall HR and business strategy. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs for the Medical Center, communicating needs proactively within our HR department and with business management, and seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization and the HR Strategic plan. The Associate Director maintains an effective level of business literacy about the Medical Center's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ In collaboration with the AVP for URMC HR and other HR stakeholders, plan, direct and supervise all activities relating to administration of employee engagement survey, compensation administration, performance management, and learning and development. Develop, implement and manage programs in a manner that ensures a culture of inclusion, cost effectiveness, market competitiveness and internal equity among employees.
+ Manage organization's efforts around mergers, acquisitions and affiliations.
+ Assists the AVP for URMC HR in the daily administration of HR services as directed or assigned, including promotions, transfers, contract negotiation and administration, affirmative action/EEO compliance, job classification, performance evaluation, and employee relations, learning and development, and culture of inclusion in accordance with the overall HR strategic plan and the overall objectives of the organization.
+ Manages and evaluates the design, development, and coordination of projects.
+ Provides technical advice, problem-solving assistance, answers to questions regarding program goals, and policy interpretation.
+ Participates in committees and task forces designed to improve the quality of service to URMC departments.
+ Participates in training programs and professional development workshops and conferences.
+ Directs, hires, trains, and evaluates assigned staff. Works with employees to correct deficiencies and implements corrective action and discipline.
+ Benchmarks with other institutions to research best practices and strategies.
+ Works collaboratively with AVP for URMC HR to develop objectives and activities based on department goals. Conducts and assists with the development of long- and short-range goals.
+ Prepares or coordinates preparation of financial and administrative reports; analyzes and interprets statistics, financial data, and management planning data for predicting resource needs and developing long range plans.
+ Serves as representative of URMC at state, regional and national organizations, boards, councils, and committees as assigned.
+ Acts as liaison with the community, students, faculty, and staff in facilitating URMC programs.
+ Develop, prepare, generate and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee information and data, including issues such as staffing levels/deployment, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, affirmative action/EEO, compensation, promotions, etc.
+ Effectively utilizes data to analyze pertinent data and information and develop strategies to make effective change.
+ Maintains and expands knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resource management. Identify trends that could affect organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management, employees accordingly.
+ Manages employees in the HR department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of these employees. This position also acts as coach and mentor to all other employees in the HR department.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in related field required.
+ 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's Degree, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) current certification preferred.
+ Experience and functional knowledge in recruiting/staffing, employee relations, employee development and retention, compensation, benefits, performance management, and talent management required.
+ SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) current certification preferred.

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $107,224 - $160,846 Annually
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
